Apollo CVHF Hospital Launches Gujarat’s First Dedicated Robotic Cardiac Surgery Unit & Second Da Vinci Xi Surgical System

Apollo CVHF Hospital has launched Gujarat’s first dedicated robotic cardiac surgery unit with the addition of a second Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, marking a significant advancement in minimally invasive cardiac care. Led by Dr. Sudhir Adalati, Senior CVTS Surgeon, the robotic cardiac surgery program has successfully completed more than 75 robotic cardiac surgeries, reflecting the growing role of robotic technology in treating complex heart conditions. 

Robot-assisted cardiac surgery enables surgeons to perform selected heart procedures through small incisions using high-definition 3D visualization and highly precise robotic instruments. Compared with conventional open-heart surgery in appropriately selected patients, this approach may reduce blood loss, lower the risk of infection, minimize postoperative pain, shorten hospital stays, and support faster recovery.
