Dr. Sudheer Koganti is a highly accomplished cardiologist with over 24 years of experience across General, Interventional, Structural, and Heart Failure Cardiology. Trained in India and the UK, he holds an MBBS from AFMC, MRCP (UK), FRCP (London & Glasgow), and CCT in General & Interventional Cardiology from London, along with an MD (Res) from University College London. He has held senior leadership and consultant roles at leading institutions including Barts Heart Centre (UK) and Citizens Hospital, Hyderabad, and from February 2026 will serve as Senior Consultant at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. An internationally recognized clinician and researcher, he has been a principal investigator in multiple landmark trials, published extensively, and presented at major global forums such as ESC, TCT, AHA, and EuroPCR. - Site Primary Investigator for several large randomized clinical trials; notably TUXEDO 2, TALENT, EMPHASIS-HF, SOLID TIMI – 52 and IMPROVE IT trials. (3 publications so far. Tuxedo 2 was presented as late breaking trial TCT San Francisco 2025)
- Sub Investigator for renal-cardiology research project titled “Cardiovascular parameters in pre and post renal transplant patients with end stage renal failure”. This project was funded by prestigious British Heart
- Foundation ( 1publication and 1 abstract – presented at American Heart Association, Orlando 2011)
- A flow cytometric and optical coherence analysis of the role of microparticles as determinants of plaque instability in acute coronary syndrome (FOAM study). Study explored the role of Microparticles in CAD and their potential to be used as a biomarker. Correlated global plaque burden as seen on IVOCT with the levels of microparticles and their pro-coagulant potential. This project was carried out in collaboration with Great Ormond Street Hospital & Thoraxcenter, Erasmus MC, Netherlands. Lead to MD Res award by UCL (5 publications and 3 abstracts from this research project. Abstracts were presented at EuroPCR - Paris, ESC - Rome and Optics conference in Netherlands))
