Dr Deepthi Nandan Reddy

Dr. Deepthi Nandan Reddy is a globally trained and highly respected Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 30 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience, specializing in Upper Limb Surgery. He is currently the Clinical Director – Upper Limb Injuries at Yashoda Hospitals, HITEC City, Hyderabad, and also serves as Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Continental Hospital, Gachibowli.

Dr. Reddy’s expertise spans the full spectrum of shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand disorders, with a strong focus on sports injuries, arthroscopy, shoulder reconstruction and replacement, elbow arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, stiffness management, and complex upper-limb trauma. He is particularly renowned for managing rotator cuff disorders, shoulder instability (Bankart/Latarjet procedures), anatomic and reverse shoulder arthroplasty, elbow arthrolysis, heterotopic ossification management, and return-to-sport protocols.

He completed his MBBS from the University of Mysore, followed by MS in Orthopaedics from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. He further pursued advanced international qualifications including MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University, UK, and FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. His extensive overseas training includes higher surgical training and consultant roles in the United Kingdom, with advanced fellowships at the Pulvertaft Hand Surgery Unit, Northern General Hospital, Sheffield (Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship), and University Hospitals Coventry. He has also trained at leading centers in the United States, including the Mayo Clinic and Florida Orthopaedic Institute, as part of the prestigious British Shoulder & Elbow Society Travelling Fellowship.

Beyond clinical excellence, Dr. Reddy has held significant leadership and administrative roles, including Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester (UK), where he contributed to departmental strategy, clinical governance, quality assurance, and advanced surgical protocol adoption. In India, he serves as Chair of the OT Committee at Continental Hospital and Chair of the Blood Transfusion Committee at Yashoda Hospital, HITEC City.

A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Reddy is the Immediate Past President of the Shoulder & Elbow Society of India, a Mayo Clinic Travelling Fellow, and a frequent invited international faculty and speaker at major conferences worldwide, including meetings in the UK, Dubai, Korea, and forums of the International Shoulder & Elbow Society. He has organized and taught the Leicester Shoulder Trauma Course in the UK and India for over 14 years.

Dr. Reddy is actively involved in research and academic publishing, with key interests in rotator cuff repair outcomes, shoulder instability surgery, and upper-limb trauma and sports injuries. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the MO Journal (Indian Division) and Associate Editor of the British Shoulder & Elbow Journal.

He is a member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Indian Orthopaedic Association, Indian Arthroplasty Association, Indian Arthroscopic Society, Indian Hand Society, and the Indian Orthopaedic Society (UK), and is the Firman Chair – Hand Surgery Division of the Indian Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Reddy communicates fluently in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada and is available for consultation Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
