Dr.Deepak Balasubramanian is a widely regarded and respected senior surgeon in head-neck and reconstructive Surgery both nationally and internationally. He has 20 years of experience in head-neck and reconstructive surgery. After completing his MBBS from Madras Medical College, he went on to complete his MS in Otolaryngology at JIPMER Pondicherry. He subsequently obtained his DNB in Otolaryngology from NBE. After his broad specialty training, he went on to complete his MCh in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. He further pursued a one-year advanced fellowship in Head-Neck & Reconstructive Surgery from the world-renowned Sydney Head & Neck Cancer Institute in Sydney Australia. He also completed a fellowship in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from UNSW, Australia
His professional and academic credentials included being professor of head and neck surgery at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. He was a mentor to head-neck, plastic surgery, ENT and OMFS trainees. He participates in treating the entire spectrum of head neck pathologies with a special emphasis on cancers & reconstructive microsurgery. He is well regarded for his work on secondary reconstructions, complex subunit reconstruction and facial nerve surgery. He has over 125 international publications and 20 textbook chapters including the chapter on reconstruction in Stell & Maran which is the gold standard for head neck surgery. He has been invited to over 80 national and international meetings as senior faculty.
