the population worldwide. Surprisingly, there is not enough conversation around

It
has been widely reported that that over one-sixth of the Indian population
suffers from depression alone. Coupled with anxiety and other mood disorders,
this number is much higher; and in the wake of this pandemic, drastic changes
to our lifestyles, finances and freedom it poses a threat higher than ever.
Mental Health Patients
People
diagnosed with mental health disorders should religiously consume their
prescribed medication, if any. If you have been taught exercises and suggested
to follow certain routine, practice it regularly.
Increased sadness, stress &
anxiety
People
with no history of depression or anxiety disorders are experiencing negative
emotions in the wake of the pandemic too. Adults across the world are reporting
vivid and stress-inducing dreams, insomnia and low-motivation for day-to-day
activities. While these feelings are an added burden on top the fear of
contracting the virus, simple steps like regular exercising, meditating,
pursuing a hobby, eating healthy and sticking to a routine can help you feel
better.
While
these steps may sound difficult, follow these for just a week to notice the
difference. (Continued -)
